Things to consider when booking with Whitney:

Couple Portraits

Often times, despite how much time is planned for couple portraits, the wedding day takes over. The family portraits take longer than expected, the heat makes it a drag to be outside, or the main focus becomes sitting down and eating food. Couples quickly find they don't exactly want to be frolicking for photos for extended periods of time. While this is 100% reasonable, it is good to really consider how important it will be that you have some nice portraits of just the two of you. If you know you're going to want a bunch to choose from, it's best to buckle down and let those pictures happen. Besides, this is really the one opportunity during the wedding day for the two of you to have some quiet time together. If you value shots of you mingling and having fun during the festivities most, then those formal portraits may not be for you. Just be aware of what's important to you and allow proper time for that to happen.

First Looks

To make the portraits even more intimate, some couples choose to have a less traditional "first look." This is when the two of you see one another before the ceremony, which allows for some quiet time away from the chaos. When this happens, you’re able to have your portraits finished before everything really begins, in turn allowing more time for those family portraits to get a little crazy, and to allow everyone to get to the reception (and food) much more quickly.

Image Limit

Unless specified in the event or session description, there is no limit to the amount of final edited images you receive from your time with me. Whatever looks great is edited and given to you, because each event and session is unique. It doesn’t do me any good to have all the good ones and for you to only have a few!

Online Albums and Discs

Online albums are included in all wedding packages. If you would like physical storage, I offer flash drives for an additional fee.

Second Shooter

My wedding services run in the family! Whenever possible, I work with my sister Casey, who is currently going through VCU’s Photography program herself. I try to have a second shooter with me at any formal event. To inquire about ensuring an assistant for other sessions or events, please send me an email.

I will travel up to 50 miles from Richmond without charge. However, for every additional 50 miles of driving I will charge $25. Please contact me by email if you are out of state, international, or have more specific travel requirements for your event or session.

I make it a goal to have your images edited and uploaded within four weeks of your wedding day.

“Unplugged” Ceremonies

Asking your guests to leave their phones, cameras, and iPads behind for the ceremony not only allows me to capture all the shots I need without obstruction, but allows your guests to be present with you during your ceremony rather than being absorbed with taking pictures or texting.

*At the very least, I ask that you consider suggesting that all of your guests remain seated during the ceremony. Unfortunately, I cannot control missing shots due to guests standing in the way or creating distractions during the ceremony!*

Wedding Weekends and Extended Services

Please feel free to email me for your specific event if you are interested in hiring for multiple days of shooting, or if you have an idea that may not have been covered in my standard pricing sheet. I am always willing to work with clients on a case-by-case basis, even if it is not something specifically covered in my pricing/shooting information.
