My sister Casey and I seem to have inherited this utterly precious ability to take on 4,549,254 responsibilities at one time, making us consistently unavailable in multiple senses of the word. We were lucky that neither of us were busy on this one Sunday:
Sweet Robert so selflessly agreed to join us on what would be the coldest photo job I believe I’ve worked (except for one time in college when my filmmaking classmates and I tried to break into a fairground. Another story).
Adventure ensued: extremities were frozen, cow patties were dodged, love was in the air. Or frostbite.
Casey, in her bravery and/or lack of self preservation, even took off her coat once the sun came up to reveal a sleeveless dress, because “it was fine now.” Rob remained unfazed, which solidified his status as a Cole Sister Professional.
I’m proud of the team for getting things done and being adorable, and I’m happy for getting to spend a little time with these two. Dynamics between close humans are a lovely thing to witness, and I loved getting to see Rob’s calm and quiet patience in contrast to my sister, who is known for her super high energy and hilariously frantic way of communicating. They exhibit such a warm balance, which was a treat to photograph.
These have been my ten favorite shots (plus a sneaky cinemagraph) from Rob and Casey’s winter portraits! Do you have a favorite photo? Share it below!
